PROBLEM:

The concerns associated with energy‑saving and lowering CO2 emissions are rising worldwide. Among many technologies, thermal insulation is the most effective and least expensive technology for increasing energy efficiency and reducing CO2 emissions. Huge market opportunities include cold chain (USD 34 billion, CAGR 18 per cent), building insulation (USD 37 billion, CAGR 5 per cent), energy storage (USD 18 billion, CAGR 20 per cent), energy and industrial infrastructure (18 billion, CAGR 18 per cent), transportation (USD 12 billion, CAGR 8 per cent), and others.

SOLUTION:

Krosslinker invented the world’s first Microwave Assisted Vacuum Freeze Drying (MAVFD) technology for aerogels production. With its integrated research and engineering platform (ASPIRETM), aerogel production becomes cheaper, faster, and greener, which will enable the large scale of production and application of aerogel and related products.

IMPACT THESIS

Through this investment, ADB Ventures will support Krosslinker in completing trials of aerogel‑insulated shipments with partners and clients to validate the insulation performance and accelerate the commercialization of its first product ‑ CryarTM in cold chain market, which would result in significant CO2 emission reduction during the aerogel fabrication and usage of aerogel products (40 per cent reduction in CO2 emissions with CryarTM used in place of EPS/PUR solutions through optimization of packaging, shipments, logistics flows and processes).
